Sarah is new as Youth officer
SarahSarah Stephan is new in the position as responsible for youth and educational issues at the Peace institute. She is substituting Anna-Lena Sjölund until May 2010. Sarah har during the last year been working at the Peace Institute, first as a guest researcher and lately as a research assistant.
Sarah is originally from Osnabrück/Germany. She holds a Bachelor degree in European and Comparative Law from the Hanse Law School of the Universities of Bremen and Oldenburg. She has complemented her law studies with courses in political sciences, in particular in global governance and peace and conflict studies.  Sarah has discovered her passion for International Law already during her Bachelor studies. This led her to the University of Helsinki where she first did an exchange and later returned to complete an LL.M. in Public International Law. Sarah is particularly interested in the legal implications of international post-conflict governance and in questions concerning the position of Human Rights in Europe.
Besides working with youth activities and education she will continue her research, right now finalising a report on the role of regions in the European Union.

Sarah can be reached at +358 18 23238 or sarah(at)peace.ax.
